The eight-week final comment period for the proposal '32-bit ASNs for documentation purposes' has now ended. This APNIC proposal has prompted the submission of an Internet Draft to the IETF. This document is now in the final stages of IETF review and we hope that it will be published before the end of 2008 as an informational RFC. At that time, we expect an associated reservation in the IANA AS number registry be made. The IETF document status can be found at: https://tools.ietf.org/wg/idr/draft-ietf-idr-as-documentation-reservation/ In accordance with our request to the proposal's authors to agree to defer implementaton of this proposal to give the IETF and the RFC Editor time to complete their processes, and after consulting the policy mailing list, the Policy SIG Chairs plan no further action on this proposal for the moment. However, if, after a period of two months, an RFC has not been published, we will ask the APNIC EC to endorse the proposal. For a detailed history of this proposal see: https://www.apnic.net/policy/proposals/prop-061-v002.html Regards APNIC Policy SIG Chairs Randy Bush Jian Zhang
