There has been discussion on this proposal in the AfriNIC, ARIN and RIPE regions. As part of these discussions, one cross-posting to the Policy SIG mailing list on 1 November 2007 asked if the intent of the proposal was to retain the current IANA allocation policy and instead concentrate on life after the depletion of the IPv4 IANA pool.
