Tim, In https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-rdf-interest/2000Feb/0172.html you raised an issue which was captured in https://www.w3.org/2000/03/rdf-tracking/#rdfms-xmllang as [[[ "This is a mess - it is in the syntax and not in the model. Should have used an RDF vocabulary for language. It should be removed from the syntax." ]]] As recorded in https://www.w3.org/2001/sw/RDFCore/20020225-f2f/#d-2002-02-26-1 the RDFCore WG has resolved: [[ a literal consists of three components: o A representation of the parseType, which is a single bit o A language indicator which is a string as defined in XML o A fully normalized UNICODE string. ]] Please could you respond to this message, copying www-rdf-comments@w3.org indicating whether this is an acceptable resolution of this issue. Brian McBride RDFCore co-chair
