There seem to be two possibilities:

• issue a triple (resp. a k/v pair) with the simple ""
• not to output anything

At the F2F we decided that there is no difference between an empty cell and a string of value "". As a consequence, at the conversion level, we have no way of knowing whether the intention was to issue an empty string indeed. Ie, the first option seems to be right one.
