I am Daniel Roy Greenfeld, also known as "pydanny". 😄

I've been an active contributor to the Python ecosystem since 2008. I love working on open source projects and would like to expand the scope of my efforts. Writing code or prose are passions of mine.

• AIR, a FastAPI-powered breath of fresh air in Python web development.

Past things I've given to the world

These are projects I created and grew to the point that they could stand on their own with support from the community.

• Django Packages, a directory of reusable apps, sites, tools, and utilities for Django projects.
• django-crispy-forms, co-founded with Miguel Araujo, this is the most ppopular form rendering library for Django. A continuation of a project I started at NASA in 2009.
• cookiecutter-django, started in the summer of 2013, Cookiecutter Django is a framework for jumpstarting production-ready Django projects quickly
• cached-property, a project whose functionality was adopted by python core. Development of this project allowed Python core's implementation to avoid race conditions when used in threaded environments.

Why

I've decided to embrace my passion for creating and building new things.

With your sponsorship I will be able to dedicate more time to building projects and writing to support them. I can work on projects like Air and the supporting FastAPI and pydantic ecosystems. Perhaps even work on a new version of Two Scoops of Django. I'll also be able to spend time helping other projects, be it coding, writing documentation, and improving tests.
