It won't get published before August 26, though, if we want to stay within our normal process. (Approval, 1st review, 2nd review)βThe WCUS attendees will have your slides and the recording. This article would be for readers without that experience, and then you can connect to the WCUS video from your article. |

I'm thinking this makes more sense as two separate posts:
These could be created as a 2-parter, but putting it all into one blog post will make for a long post. @bph I'd appreciate your thoughts on this. |

My 2 cents are that we should split the communication between the Abilities API and the MCP. MCP is the most prominent use case for the Abilities API, but there are so many more ways abilities can be consumed, so we should build that awareness from the start. I like the proposed breakdown because part 2, explaining the MCP Adapter, would be a good follow-up showing one of the ways abilities can be consumed. In the future, you could also have another post explaining how to build an agent that uses the same abilities to show a different perspective. |

Another idea I had was how to utilize the PHP AI client and add functionality via Abilities. |

The general consensus from the core-ai team is also to split this into two posts. |

The Core AI building blocks are starting to come together, with the first iterations of the Abilities API now publicly available.
This post will serve as an early introduction to the Abilities API, including examples of how to register and use Abilities in both PHP and JavaScript, what it will unlock, and encourage folks to start testing early and provide feedback.
