I think that we should switch to firefox' Console API so that the log messages will be sent to the Browser Console. Currently RP still logs through the Logger which has less features, i.e. grouping et cetera.

Benefits:

• more functionality
  • filtering
  • easy to use GUI
  • grouping
  • colours
  • et cetera
• logging is easily possible even in bootstrap.js, as we can assume that importing Console will never fail.

Are there any disadvantages?

• Maybe someone uses the logging to command-line as it is now?
• are there any other disadvantages?

I would like to remove the logging via stderr completely – it's quite inconvenient to use it in the code.

Edit: Using Log.jsm is another possibility.
