157. Frederick Temple Hamilton-Temple-BIackwood, First Marquess of Dufferin and Ava (1826–1902), held numerous international governmental positions for Great Britain between 1849 and 1896, including ambassadorships to Italy and France. He married Hariot Hamilton in 1862.
158. In 1722, the Duke of Charost built the house, known as the Hôtel de Charost (located in the Faubourg Saint Honoré, Paris), under the direction of architect Antoine Mazin. In 1803, the Charost family sold it to Bonaparte’s sister, Pauline Leclerc. The Duke of Wellington, then British ambassador to France, purchased the house in 1814, and it has remained the residence of the ambassador since then.
