You can view the number of open alarms for your fleet of HeatWave and
External MySQL DB systems in the compartment or for a single HeatWave or External MySQL DB
system. If the HeatWave DB systems have attached HeatWave clusters, then the alarms include
those created to monitor HeatWave cluster metrics.
The alarms in the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Monitoring
service monitor resources by using metrics and notify you when these metrics meet
alarm-specified triggers. To monitor the alarms for your HeatWave DB systems and
attached HeatWave clusters or External MySQL DB systems in Database Management, the OCID of the DB system must be specified using the
resourceId dimension.
For information on:
Permissions required to create alarms and how to create alarms, see Managing Alarms.
For Database Management-enabled HeatWave DB systems, in
addition to the open alarms created using the metrics emitted by Database Management in the
oracle_oci_database namespace (resource groups:
mysql_database and
mysql_database_advanced_metrics), the open alarms that were
created using the metrics emitted by the HeatWave service in the
oci_mysql_database namespace can be monitored in Database Management. The resourceId
dimension must be specified for these open alarms to be displayed in Database Management. For information on the metrics
emitted by the HeatWave service in the oci_mysql_database
namespace, see HeatWave Service
Metrics.
The open alarms for the Database Management-enabled
HeatWave and External MySQL DB systems for which the resourceId
dimension is specified are displayed on the following Database Management pages:
HeatWave & External MySQL fleet summary:
Displays the total number of open alarms for the HeatWave DB systems and attached
HeatWave clusters, if any, and External MySQL DB systems in the compartment.
MySQL database details: Displays the total number
of open alarms for a single HeatWave DB system and attached HeatWave cluster, if any
or the External MySQL DB system.
Click the number of alarms on the Database Management pages to access the Alarms panel.
View the list of open alarms along with information such as the name
and severity of the alarm.
If you want to view all the open alarms
in the compartment, then click the link in the introductory text in the
Alarms panel. A list of open alarms is listed on the
Alarm Status page in the Monitoring service.
Select the Show suppressed alarms check box to
view suppressed alarms. Suppression is a configuration to avoid publishing messages
during the specified time range. For information on the suppression configuration,
see Managing Alarms.
Use the Severity drop-down list or the
Search by... field to filter the list of alarms.
Click the name of the DB system (in the Database
column) to go to the MySQL database details page and view the
open alarm. Note that the Database column is only displayed
if you access the Alarms panel from the HeatWave
& External MySQL fleet summary page.
Click the name of the alarm to go to the Alarm
Definitions page in the Monitoring service. On this page, you can
review information about the alarm, such as its summary, severity, evaluation, and
history. You can also perform tasks such as suppressing, updating, or deleting the
alarm. For information on the Alarm Definitions page, see
Managing Alarms.
