Large-Scale Analysis of Framework-Specific Exceptions in Android Apps (PDF)

  •     Overview
                We conduct a large-scale analysis of framework-specific exceptions in Android apps. To achieve this, we constructed a comprehensive dataset that contains 16,245 unique exception traces from 2,486 open-source apps. We also demonstrate the usefulness on two prototype tools.


  • Subjects for experiment (representative)
           Besides 2486 open-source apps, we have also tested 2000 Google Play apps, and collected 3200 exceptions, whose crash types (framework-specific) are all covered by those of open-source apps.
